Meet Personal Trainer and Owner, Rane Chalk!
I've been a professional Personal Trainer & Coach since 2012
working with clients needing rehab, weight loss, building lean muscle mass, losing body fat, body sculpting, sports specific, and overall health goals.
I have also trained clients with ailments such as knee, shoulder, and back injuries, Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as those disabled and wheel chair bound. For the past couple years, I have been researching and gaining expertise in macro coaching for weight loss, gaining lean muscle mass, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
One of my specialties is working with people who have poor mobility. Mobility is the process of stretching and strengthening your end ranges of motion as well as addressing poor movement patterns. Flexibility is only increasing your end ranges of motion passively without strengthening that new found range. This is important because the older we get the less mobile we become and the more aches and pains we begin to notice. Many people contribute these aches and pains as just a part of getting older, but it doesn’t have to be this way. By addressing your mobility issues during an initial assessment with me a lot of your aches and pains can be completely reverted or drastically decreased. Don’t allow yourself to live with chronic pain, set up an initial assessment now and get your body moving and feeling better!
My Story
I was always one of those extremely active kids growing up. It didn't matter what I was doing as long as I was doing something active I was happy! Having an ectomorph body type, I was lean, long, and struggled to put on muscle mass and size. Around age 14, some friends and I decided we wanted to start working out and putting on some size. Without any guidance or formal training we dove right into bench press, bicep curls, and, of course, abs! I don't recomend this approach because for the first year or two all I trained was chest, arms & abs... No legs.. No back.. Just chest, arms, & abs, I looked pretty ridiculous. Eventually one of my friends pointed out the fact that I had no back or leg muscle, so I started researching how to train those neglected areas.
At age 21, I went to Orlando Florida's National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) where I learned proper weight lifting form and the science of exercise and nutrition. After completing the courses and getting nationally certified through NPTI, I returned home to Delaware and started training friends. A year and a half later, I started working at a box gym, Retro Fitness, and finally got my first taste of working with real clients. It was during this job when I fell more in love with fitness and realized how significant an impact I could have to change someone's life for the better! Whether it is helping someone lose weight, get stronger, or just become more functional in their day to day life, I love helping people transform into a better version of themselves! That's what it's all about, and that's why I love about this industry!
After working at Retro Fitness for 6 months, I packed up my life and moved to Northern Virginia where there is more opportunity. I quickly got a job at Gold's Gym and everything was great. I gained more clients, climbed to the top Personal Trainer tier within a year, and was helping people transform their lives and achieve the results and goals they wanted. But I was not completely fulfilled. Having worked at Gold's for three years, I've decided it's too restrictive for me. I began feeling like i was not living up to my full potential and decided to start my own business, No Limits Training (NLT). By making NLT online, I can do what I love on my own schedule and terms. I am able to reach as many people as I possibly can, transform more lives, and have a far greater impact on this world. I only have one life to live here on earth and I want to do what I love everyday. I want to help you become a better version of yourself. I BELIEVE TRUE HAPPINESS COMES FROM ALWAYS PUSHING PAST OUR COMFORT ZONES AND PROGRESSING IN LIFE. I thought it would be a lot easier for me. After a while I started to see things different. A cheat wasn't the end of the world anymore and I kinda accepted the way I look. It really helped me out of this negativity.
